The most outstanding building in the historical case is the church of San Pedro Apóstol, in the upper part of the city, just before the path leading to the castle.

Although there are few remains of Polop Castle, you must visit its ruins, located on the top of the hill on which the old town is located. Without a doubt, the path leading to the castle itself is one of the most interesting places to visit in Polop. Impeccably well-kept, just like the rest of the commune, the beautiful surface and its zigzag route offer us impressive views of the city and the surrounding area.

The colorful fountain - Fuente de los Chorros - also deserves great attention. It is decorated with ceramic mosaics with the coats of arms of various cities in the province of Alicante and has as many as 221 springs.

If we talk about hiking trails in Polop, there is one route that stands out from the rest: climbing Mount Ponotx known as the Sleeping Lion’. A large limestone mass with vertical walls that rises to a height of 1,183 meters. This is a route with a high degree of difficulty, due to the positive difference of over a thousand meters, and is a route reserved for people in very good physical condition and accustomed to this type of mountain routes.
