One of the most beautiful and paradisiacal villages in Asturias. Within the council of Quirós there are places away from the slightest noise and just a few minutes from one of the greatest values of nature in the region, such as the Lindes Forest. This beautiful town wakes up every day discovering the top of Peña Rueda, a short distance away, and this means that it lives nestled in the Natural Park of Las Ubiñas and La Mesa. With a climate closer to Castilian, this town already borders the border with the province of León, and apart from being able to drive directly to the Alto de La Cobertoria, 10 km away, it is the same km to Bárzana, the capital of the council, where it also has all the services.

It is wonderful to also have the best possible traditions, the luxury of feeling the union of its neighbors, with typical meals outdoors or in the bar of the town of Lindes, morning talks without looking at the clock or the collaboration of everyone to help in everything that is needed. When we talk about traditional folklore, we talk about the union of its people, and this is something that in Cortes is worth millions.

The house we are talking about has been completely restored over the years, with a new roof, double glazed windows, oil heating and wood stove, and a farm delimited with Hercules type mesh. Villamor or Vitsamor is a place in the parish of Las Morteras, in the municipality of Somiedo, located in a valley. It is reached by a well-paved local road, which starts from the AS-265. From Oviedo it is a journey of about 70 minutes, without large slopes, or steep slopes. A pleasant journey takes us to the cradle of the Somiedo Natural Park, an authentic jewel of nature. In the place there are good examples of traditional architecture, and a hermitage dedicated to the Virgen de la O. In this small village, years ago there was a rural school where children from all over the village learned to read and write. This school was rehabilitated in its day by its owners, and created a true work of art in stone, chestnut wood, and with very good taste.

A two-storey house of 70 m2 each, 140 m2 in total. The ground floor is a large living room-kitchen with fireplace, fully equipped with all appliances, wood stove, induction hob and brand new oven, and ample space to eat, relax and get together as a family. The plan is always rectangular, with a gabled tile roof and trestle parallel to the main façade, facing south or east. Only a few parishes, but a lot of history and a lot of charm, from Martimporra, its capital, to Suares or Rozadas. The hidden place that we discovered this time, has left us as surprised as we are sure of its potential. With the proximity of bars, shops and famacia, or even a primary school, this area gives a good account of services surrounded by nature and green everywhere.

The mill house has seen many generations pass by, but its imperishable stone makes these constructions a unique jewel. The sound of the water from the river bordering the land is faint, but its brightness when the sun rises illuminates every corner. But this house does not come alone, because in addition to the two floors that form it, making about 40 m2 more or less, its 3100 m2 plot also has two more constructions that complete it and make it more than complete for all those who sought to meet their expectations and find what they have been pursuing for a long time.

And this wider image allows us to leave the motorway in the direction of Villaviciosa capital and continue towards quieter, greener areas, and with views of the sea as you may not have imagined yet. And so one day we arrived in Rales, the vegetation opened wide to us, and we discovered one of the villages with the best views of the council, of that we are sure.

As we well know, these villages hide jewels, and the precious gem that we present to you today is an imposing stone terraced house, completely renovated, with a modern air and open concept that makes us feel that we have hit the nail on the head from the first moment.

On an area of 197 m2 we have a small piece of land left over to be able to take out a table and chair and have breakfast receiving the morning sun, since the house receives all the possible sun throughout the day. In front of the house, a small shed where the oil boiler and the 1000 litre tank are located, and where we still have plenty of space for other gardening tools and other belongings (for example, madreñes). The house is only attached on its north side to a neighbour’s garage, so the feeling of independence is ideal around the entire property. All the stone has been preserved and cleaned to perfection, and the roof is in perfect condition.

This summer we got the phenomenal news that Asturias is going to have its own water park, and from what they say, it will be spectacular. Slides, swimming pools, and, above all, a name with a lot of hook: El PACO. Well, this PACO will have its location in the council of Corvera, which despite being a ’small’ council, is totally focused so that all Asturians can access without problems by all means. And it is that Corvera has the first Shopping Center that was built in Asturias, which was Astur Park, which was an event years ago, and even today is still a reference, of course.

We already know that Corvera is hyperconnected, but what is perhaps less known are its small villages full of charm, and beautiful houses, which allow a privileged few to be only 15 minutes from Gijón, Oviedo, and Avilés. A totally strategic place to carry out an exemplary life, both family and professionally. Linked by roads in an exceptional state, it is rare that in less than 5 minutes we take the highway to any destination, or we find ourselves taking the train or bus at its more than enough stops and stations.

And it is near the station, for example, of Cancienes, in the Bango area, where we find this independent two-storey house built in 2010, surrounded by 2000 m2 of farm and next to its other plot of another 2000 m2 full of fruit trees, and of course, also buildable.

The house has electric heating, but also with a pellet boiler, more than enough to spend the winter without major expenses. The optical fiber has already reached this house, and water is brought from a spring, through two tanks and a pump that are located on the floor ’minus 1’. It is accessed from the North façade, at the height of the terrace.

Felguera is a village of Riosa at 380 m altitude where almost 100 people live, and where the river path that leads to L’Ará, capital of the council, perfect for long walks. It preserves good examples of traditional architecture, such as two granaries with Villaviciosa style decoration, several noble houses, such as the Miranda Palace (granted by Carlos I), the house of the Canton and the house of the Peralona (dating from 1.825), and a hermitage dedicated to San Juan and Nuestra Señora de los Remedios (s. XVII), which has a single nave that is accessed through a portico and an arched door half a point. Until 1880 Felguera was the administrative capital of the council. The famous port of l’Angliru is very close, and also from the terrace you can see the rural hotel ’La Aldea Soñada’.

Here we have a two-storey house plus a low deck that make up 92 m2, divided into four bedrooms, all of them in the upper part, including a toilet, and the ground floor, which has a large equipped kitchen, where the living room, a pantry and a bathroom with shower have been temporarily installed.

In the books of Asturian mansions already appears this house of the nineteenth century called C’Antonia, an old inn in the middle of the road to San Salvador.
