Benalmádena is located just 20 km from Malaga and 40 km from Marbella. This town is loved by Spanish tourists. We can divide Benalmadena into three main parts. These will be: Benalmadena Pueblo - the old Andalusian part with its characteristic white buildings, the modern and residential Arroyo de la Miel and the magnificent harbour. Each is unique and worth seeing.

1.Benalmádena Pueblo
A restored old town (pueblo) with narrow streets and two squares (Plaza de España and Plaza Andalucia). The first one features the bronze fountain La Niña, which is the symbol of the Benalmádena Pueblo

2.Benalmádena Costa - the newest part of the town, located along the coast and directly adjacent to the sea. Much of its development is made up of tourist facilities (hotels, food outlets, discos and the beach).

3.Arroyo de la Miel (Creek flowing with honey’:)- originally a separate settlement, located between the other two districts. It is the main residential and most commercially active district.


Benalmádena is particularly recommended for families with children, as it abounds in a large number of attractions prepared also for the youngest. Most of the most interesting ones can be found below:

THE FAIRYTALE CASTLE OF COLOMARES
Colomares Castle, is not really a castle but a monument to Columbus. Nevertheless, it is beautiful and is one of the biggest attractions in Benalmadena. It was designed and built by Esteban Marin Martin. Its construction lasted from 1987 to 1994. It is interesting to note that in the castle, there is the smallest church in the world, listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Its surface area is just 1.96 m2.

STUPA
A living monument to the enlightened mind, a Buddhist monument to peace, and harmony in the world, and a place for study, reflection and meditation. A very interesting place, not least because it is the largest Stupa in Europe. Few people also know that it was designed by the Polish architect Wojciech Kossowski. An additional attraction is the beautiful panorama stretching from the hill.

BENALMADENA HARBOUR
Puerto Marina, is a good place for a family stroll or dinner with wine. You can admire the ships moored here and the interesting architecture. The harbour is full of bars, shops and cafés. It has twice been voted the most beautiful harbour in the world. It is also known as the ’Venice of Andalusia’ because of its streets, narrow canals and bridges. One of the attractions you can count on here is the aquarium. At Sea Life, you will find more than 2,000 species of sea creatures including: turtles, sharks and stingrays.

TIVOLI WORLD
An ideal activity option for children and adults alike. Among the fountains and gardens, you can enjoy not only more than 30 attractions for the whole family, but also a wide range of food and drink options. This is an old-style amusement park, with classic attractions such as Ferris wheels, bumper cars and a mansion of terror, as well as new offerings for the more adventurous. The tower, from which you can experience a stunning fall from a height of 60 metres, is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular attractions in the park.

TEREFERICO BENALMADENA - THE QUEUE
The Teleférico Benalmádena is a cable car that will give you a bird’s eye view of the entire city. The three-kilometre route takes you to the top of Calamorro in the Sierra de Mijas mountain range. Once reached, we can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Costa del Sol, nearby Gibraltar and, in good weather, the African coastline. In addition to the magnificent landscapes at the summit of the Calomorro, several other optional activities await us, such as bird of prey shows, Andalusian horse training demonstrations, trekking trails and cycling routes.

BEACHES
While in this beautiful city it is certainly worth relaxing on one of Benalmadena’s beaches, and there is plenty of choice: Arroyo Hondo, Carvajal, Bonita, Bil Bil, La Morera, Arroyo de la Miel, Benalnatura, Fuente de la Salud, La Perla, Las Viborillas, Playa de las Yucas, Torrebermeja, Santa Ana, Tajo de la Soga, Torremuelle, Torrequebrada y Torrevigía are all options that are certainly worth taking advantage of when planning a stay here.
