The second lagoon (La Laguna de la Mata) is green in color. The interpretative center of the park is located here. Here we can see unusual vegetation, i.e. Aleppo pine, orchid, thyme, starze, zatrwia and many others.

Noteworthy are also the vineyards where the local wine de la Mata is produced.

The climate in Torrevieja definitely encourages sunbathing and relaxing on one of the many local sandy beaches. And there is a lot to choose from, so it’s hard to decide which beach to choose for your holiday. Well, one of the most popular is Playa de la Mata with a length of about 2.5 km. This beautiful sandy beach is marked with a Blue Flag and is accessible to people with disabilities. People who like to spend time actively on the beach can play on one of several volleyball courts.

On the north side of the city, there are two beaches, Playa de los Locos and Playa del Cura. Both are equipped with full infrastructure and marked with the Blue Flag. In the very center, next to the seaside Paseo Marítimo Juan Aparicio, you can bathe in natural pools that have been created among the rocky coast. You can also see the statue of the Man of the Sea (Monumento al Hombre del Mar) and Beautiful Lola (La Bella Lola) sitting on a bench. It is also worth going to the beaches located in the bays. Cala Ferris and Cala Piteras with great views, palm trees and dunes. You can also go snorkeling on the latter.

Take a walk along the elegant promenade (Vista Alegre). Here you can perfectly feel the atmosphere of the city and relax while admiring the beautiful views.
along the promenade you will find a huge number of bars, restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlors and souvenir and handicraft shops. For those seeking sensations, Torrevieja offers the Aquapark,,Aquopolis,, and an amusement park close to the promenade. In the summer season, summer discos in the open air are also very popular, where thousands of people have fun here.

Torrevieja is an ideal place for people practicing all kinds of sports. There are many sports facilities, football fields, handball, tennis, rugby, swimming pools, as well as gyms and a boxing club.

Although today the city impresses with its architecture and sometimes splendour, until 1802 there was only one building here, i.e. the observation tower, from which the city got its name. Torre vieja means old tower in Polish.

If you add to this the fact that for over 300 days a year there is beautiful and sunny weather here, you get a place that is tempting to stay here for much longer than just a few days of vacation.
